The Story
Hello! My name is Julian Businessman and I’m an 11-year-old kid who has been doing business all over the Upper West Side since I was 4.
I came up with the idea of creating a Kids Business Fair because I wanted other kids to experience the same exhilaration I always feel when I run my stands and donate a part of my profit to charity.
The first Kids Business Fair took place last year at The Grand Bazaar NYC (see video!) We made it possible for 15 kids to run their own shops, sell their own self-made products, and donate at least 30% of their net profits to a charity of their choice. Together we raised $1,706.67 for 10 different charities!
The 2nd Julian Businessman Kids Business Fair will take place on Sunday June 14, 2026, again at The Grand Bazaar. If you’d like to support us as a business sponsor or personal supporter, please scroll down.
Thanks and Sincerely,
Julian Businessman

Alayna (12)

Bio: I am in 7th grade and go to CQA (central queens academy). I like drawing, playing video games, and do arts and crafts.
Chosen Charity: I am choosing OneChild because I believe that every child should get a chance at a normal life.
-

Alex (12)
Shop: CHESS FOR CHANGE
Selling: Chess games and vouchers for chess lessons.
Bio: Alex is a 12 year-old rising 7th grader who loves lego, math, chess, running, political history and chatting with interesting people.
Chosen Charity: Water for South Sudan because in South Sudan there are villages where the people have to leave every dry season because there’s no water. Water for South Sudan puts water pumps in these villages so that the villages can develop and grow.
-

Bella (14), Callie (15), Sherry (16), Beatrix (17)
Shop: YOUR FAVORITE THRIFT STORES’ FAVORITE THRIFT STORE
Selling: Clothes, books and tchotchkes.
Bio: Beatrix, Callie, and Bella all became friends through their cross country team and bonded over their shared love of thrifting. Recently, this May, Sherry came into the equation and Callie and Beatrix, who did the fair last year had the bright idea of involving Sherry along with Bella. We, as a very un-organized team, have been working towards making this fair as perfect as can be. With our shared love of thrifting and arts and crafts, we've gathered enough “junk” to fill up a thrift store, and that's just what we did.
Chosen Charity: National Eating Disorder Association. Also, Dan O’Connor Foundation. Our teacher runs this organization and it is an inspiring cause to teenagers and adults alike.
-

Jemma (16)
Shop: JEMSTONES
Selling: A variety of handmade jewelry.
Bio: Jemstones is a Brooklyn-based label selling a variety of handmade jewelry. Jemma enjoys making anything with her hands like sewing or origami.

The Kids Business Fair Builder Game!
To help the Kid Entrepreneurs decide what products would be good choices to sell at the Kids Business Fair, how best to price them, and how much inventory to make, we built a little game that helps them along. The widget is made for the Kids Business Fair, but can be used by any kid wanting to start up a little shop.
Go ahead and play with it. If you run into bugs, please report them here.

ANYONE 👇
I think every kid should have the chance to experience the excitement of learning about entrepreneurship. That’s why I’m covering the event costs of the Kids Business Fair, so every kid has the opportunity to participate.
Each kid will cover their own shop’s expenses, but I’ll be covering the space rental, tents, tables, chairs, and marketing. That’s about $1500.
Will you help me cover those costs and make sure that each kid has the opportunity to participate, learn, and be inspired to become entrepreneurs and philanthropists?
Thank you!
